Full description
Just 30 kilometers from Tirana, the mountain town of Kruja is one of Albania's most historically charged destinations — the stronghold from which Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, Albania's greatest national hero, held off Ottoman forces for over two decades in the 15th century. This 6 to 8-hour private tour takes you there and back with a licensed guide, covering the medieval castle, the fascinating Skanderbeg Museum inside its walls, and the charming Old Bazaar below — one of the best-preserved Ottoman-style markets in the Balkans, still filled with handmade crafts, silver, carpets, and traditional gifts.
An optional visit to the Ethnographic Museum and a traditional mountain lunch are available for those who want to extend the experience. Private transport, hotel pickup and drop-off, the castle entrance fee, and bottled water are all included.
