2-Day Tour · Korça · Pogradec · Lake Ohrid · Culture & Cuisine
The tour of Korça and Pogradec is a harmonious blend of history, culture, and natural beauty — a journey that allows you to uncover the treasures of Albania's eastern region. From the vibrant streets of Korça where tradition and modernity intertwine, to the tranquil shores of Lake Ohrid in Pogradec where nature's beauty reigns supreme — this tour promises to leave an indelible mark on your memories.
🌊 Day 1 — Tirana – Lin – Drilon – Tushemisht – Pogradec Our tour guide picks you up at your hotel. We head to Pogradec — one of the oldest settled civilizations in Albania, situated on the shores of Lake Ohrid. Lake Ohrid is of tectonic origin (2–4 million years old), the deepest lake in the Balkans and under UNESCO protection — home to 17 unique species of aquatic animals.
As we drive through the dramatic zigzag roads we encounter one of the most picturesque views of Lake Ohrid and Lin Peninsula. We discover the mosaic of Lin, dating back to the 4th–5th centuries AD. We visit the national park of Drilon and Tushemisht — a unique oasis of beauty and tranquility. The area is famous for traditional fish dishes, especially the baked speckled trout (Koran), and the traditional wines of Buti, Perla, and Moskat raki of Pogradec. Overnight in Pogradec.
🏛️ Day 2 — Pogradec – Korça – Tirana We continue toward Korça — known as the "Little Paris of Albania" for its French-style villas, coffee culture, and charm. We take a city tour of this enchanting town. Not to be missed is "Pazari i Vjetër" — the most charming neighborhood in Korça with narrow streets, colored buildings, nice cafés, and small boutiques. We visit the largest Orthodox church in Albania — the Cathedral of the Resurrection — and the National Museum of Medieval Art. Beer lovers will be happy — Korça offers the best beer in Albania! We return to Tirana in the late afternoon.
