1-Day Hiking Tour · Theth · Blue Eye · Grunas Waterfall · From Tirana

Theth and the Blue Eye invite you to unlock the door to a world of natural wonders and cultural riches. A place where time stands still, allowing you to immerse yourself in the beauty of untouched landscapes and forge a deep connection with the essence of Albania's majestic mountains. Prepare to be enchanted, inspired, and forever changed.

🏔️ Day 1 — Tirana – Theth – Blue Eye – Grunas Waterfall – Shkodra – Tirana Our journey toward the Albanian Alps begins at 06:00. We pick you up at your hotel in Tirana. As we drive toward Northern Albania you'll be amazed by beautiful landscapes — wild fields, rivers, Shkodra Lake, and rugged untouched mountains. From Shkodra we experience local transport at around 07:30.

As we take the turn to Theth the area becomes more rural — famous for medicinal herbs, and in May–June, stunning fields of lavender that make you feel like you are in Provence. On the way to the top we pass through a steep hillside reaching 1,700 meters at Qafa e Thores — one of the best viewpoints of the Albanian Alps.

After arriving in Theth we visit the Old Church and the famous Lock Tower — symbols of Theth with centuries of history. We start our hiking journey toward the Blue Eye around midday. Formed by the erosion of melting snow from the Albanian Alps, the hike is about 3 hours one way with 6.2 km distance and 700m elevation — easy to moderate. You will not be able to take your eyes off the stunning iridescent blue and green colors of this marvel of nature. Fun fact: the temperature is just around 5°C — would you dare to dive in?

On the way back, for those with energy remaining, we can also visit Grunas Waterfall — a curtain of white water tumbling down grey rocks in a series of mini-waterfalls. We drive back to Shkodra or Tirana.
